Pitru Paksha is auspicious and this puja is observed by the Hindu people for their forefather, ancestor to offer the food. This ritual can be performed on Amavasya (new moon day), and from 16th day of Bhadrapada month( September - October). During the day, people observe the puja to their forefathers on the seashore/ riverside and also can be performed at home to get the blessings from them. This ceremony is done on the day of Mahalaya Amavasya.
This ritual is observed on the same Tithi when people left the soul from the earth, and to offer food (pinda) like boiled raw rice and black till to satisfy Pitru Devatha.
Pitru Paksha means people can perform Shraddh puja for paksha means 15days in Bhadrapada month in between September to October.
Sankalpam(The Testimony of The Vedic Vidhi)
The word Sankalpam indicates the Vedic astrology of Panchang, place, time, day, Tithi, Nakshatra, Yogam, and Karanam. These are recited to the three trinities of Bhrama, Vishnu, and Shiva. The Vedic Vidhi recites for the current Vedic year and the Vedic name of the subcontinent and other significant elements.
